Barry Allen was the second Flash. He was part of a new generation of heroes that emerged after the dissolution of the Justice Society of America.

- Barry Allen was created by Robert Kanigher and Carmine Infantino, first appearing in Showcase #4. However, the JSA: The Golden Age version of Barry Allen first appeared in Golden Age #4 by James Robinson and Paul Smith.
