Night-Flash is an alternate version of Barry Allen from one of the new realities in the Omniverse.

When Barry was a boy, his father Henry Allen developed a serum which promoted rapid healing. A crimelord known as Knives Maroney broke into Henry's lab and attempted to steal the formula, but Henry refused to hand it over. Unfortunately, Barry's mother Nora had brought him to the lab to visit Henry, and Knives took them hostage. He murdered Nora and threatened to kill Barry as well if Henry didn't hand over the formula.

Suddenly, a bolt of lightning struck the lab. Barry and Knives were both doused in Henry's formula and hit by the lightning. The lab caught fire and everyone but Barry and Knives were killed. Barry was given superhuman speed by the accident and used his new powers to protect his city as Night-Flash. Knives also gained superspeed from the accident and became Night-Flash's archenemy, but he also began aging in reverse. By the time Barry was an adult, Knives had become a child.[1]

Jai and Irey West came to his world looking for the Barry Allen of their reality.[2] Barry mistook the superpowered twins as Knives' henchmen and attacked them.[3] When they fled they were "rescued" by Knives who told them that Night-Flash was a brutal tyrant and convinced them to "save" the world from him. The twins fought Night-Flash but realised Knives was evil when he told them to kill Night-Flash. Jay Garrick arrived looking for the twins and Knives fled, his deception exposed.

The twins and Night-Flash mutually apologised and the heroes from another world departed, with Night-Flash telling them he was glad to know there were other heroes out there.[1]

Powers

  • Speed Force Conduit: Night-Flash possesses a connection to the Speed Force, a mysterious cosmic force that pushes time and space itself forward. As a conduit of the Speed Force, all aspects of Night-Flash's physiology are accelerated and enhanced.[4]
    • Accelerated Healing: By having a connection to the speed force, Night-Flash has an incredibly fast healing ability and can heal from most injuries in seconds and devastating injuries in minutes.[5]
    • Enhanced Senses: The Speed Force enhances Night-Flash's senses, allowing him to perceive and process thoughts faster than the normal person.[6]
    • Phasing: Night-Flash can tap into the Speed Force to vibrate his molecules in a way to achieve intangibility for short bursts, allowing him to phase through objects.[7]
    • Speed Force Aura: The Speed Force manifests an aura around Night-Flash and whatever he is carrying, protecting him from adverse effects of his speed, such as friction with the air.[8]
      • Superhuman Durability: The Speed Force Aura also protects Night-Flash from kinetic impacts, which in turn, makes him much more durable and resistant to injury than any normal human.[9]
    • Superhuman Stamina: The Speed Force grants Night-Flash with a great increase of stamina, allowing him to fight or run much longer than the average person. Although a great increase, it is not unlimited.[6]
    • Superhuman Speed: The universal factor of being a Speed Force conduit grants Night-Flash with imperceptible amounts of speed. All powers that Night-Flash possesses derives from his speed.[6]. This also confers:
      • Superhuman Agility: Night-Flash's agility, balance, and bodily coordination are enhanced to superhuman levels. This allows him to easily maneuver while moving at superhuman speed.[6]
      • Superhuman Reflexes: In conjunction with his enhanced senses, Night-Flash's reflexes are heightened immesurably, allowing him to dodge or react faster than normal.[6]
    • Vortex Creations: Night-Flash is able to create vortices of air by running in circles or rotating his extremities at super-speed. These vortices can be used for a number of effects.[10]
