History
The first concept of a Bat-Glider was a variation of the Batsuit which resembled a wingsuit.[1] The second variation of a Bat-Glider was designed as giant bat accessory created as a way to terrorize some criminals in order to make them surrender to the police. Batman would strap to the giant bat model, which allowed him to glide across the air.[2]
The Bat-Glider made its official debut on a time-travel adventure, when Batman and Robin were stuck on Italy in the year 1497. In order to break into a fortress, they stitched together the black silk trappings from some horses and placed it over a frame of wooden branches, in the shape of a bat wing. Using the horses to gain air, the Dynamic Duo were able to glide towards the inner side of the fortress and rescue their friend Superman, before returning to the present day.[3]
