Synopsis for "The Battle for the Burnside Bridge"

The Burnside neighbourhood has been blocked off from the rest of Gotham City, making it one of the few safe-zones from the Joker's virus. A barricade at the downtown end of the Burnside Bridge - and Batgirl atop it - are all that stand between the survivors and the infected. Using their smartphones, Frankie Charles and Batgirl coordinate to locate survivors and help them to the safe zone. Frankie notifies Babs of a bus, which has prominent Gothamites and law enforcement on board, and it requires safe passage to Burnside. Batgirl breaks into a nearby building and uploads an image of the Joker to its electronic billboards, which draws the infected to it. This clears a path for the bus, and Barbara catches up to it to help usher those aboard to the bridge. A straggler is nearly captured by an infected, and she has to leap into the fray to grab the woman and carry her up to the top of the barricade via her grapple.

A policeman warns Batgirl of the countdown on a device meant to blow the bridge, and is worried when she realizes that young Tiffany Fox is still trapped on the wrong side of the barricade. She waves desperately to get the girl's attention, and warn her to keep quiet. Babrara's grapple gun is broken, after its last use, and she has no way to get to her. So, she takes a picture of Tiffany to Frankie to have her use geolocalization to figure out Tiff's phone number. Using it, she texts Tiffany a message to tell her to smile very wide, and try to walk through the crowd unnoticed. Tiffany tries, but she is very scared, and her tears overwhelm her, and she loses her composure. Without any other option, Babs puts on a gas-mask, and leaps down among the infected to grab Tiffany and rush into the relative safety of the empty bus. Babs drives the bus right off the bridge, climbing with Tiffany out the back of it while it falls, and gliding across the river to safety and her parents.

Finally, the bridge blows, and Babs watches as the rest of her city burns - but those she saved will survive.
