Synopsis for "Father's Day"

Batgirl is patrolling Gotham City at night when she is summoned to Batman's location. He asks her to keep and eye on a recently captured meta-human while he goes searching for something to restrain him with. Batgirl waits for Batman and when the criminal starts moving, she knocks him out again. Batman arrives and ties the man. He tells Batgirl that she can leave, but he stops her to ask her about her plans to celebrate her anniversary of becoming Batgirl and he thinks that celebrating it is a good idea.

Batgirl is idle in the night when she spots Batman's signal coming from nearby and she decides to take a look. Batgirl starts chasing a car that seems to be trying to get away. Batgri smashes through the windshield and causes the car to crash against a light post. Batgirl grabs the driver and the man tells her that he doesn't know anything more than what he already told Batman about the person called Alpha. The man reveals that the only man that knows Alpha's identity is David Cain.

Batgirl goes to Oracle's Watchtower and asks her about Alpha. Barbara explains her that Batman has been tracking that person for a while and that just recently they've discovered that Cain knows the answer. Cassandra wonders if he would be able to get that answer from him, because after all, he is her father. With some help from Barbara, Cassandra is disguised as a reporter for Gotham Gazette and Barbara arranges an interview between her and Cain at Blackgate Penitentiary.

Cassandra goes to Blackgate and waits until the guards bring her father. At the sight of David, Cassandra remembers her violent childhood and then she recalls the murder of Vesper Fairchild at the hands of her father. Cain follows the idea that Cass is a reporter and asks her what is it she wants to know. Cassandra tries to ask him about Alpha, but instead she asks him "Who do you think you are?" Cass smashes the window pane that separates them and she delivers a flying kick to her father that causes him to fall off his chair, and then she proceeds to knock out all the guards in the room. She then grabs David and warns him not to kill again or otherwise she'd kill him. Before leaving the room, Cassandra asks David about her birthday and she replies that it's on January 26. Unimpressed, she leaves the room while her father contemplates his grown-up daughter with pride.

Cassandra manages to escape from Blackgate and some time later she heads to the Batcave, where she sits alone thinking about the whole situation. Batman arrives and gives her a birthday present. She is happy about it, but she tells him that it's not her birthday and Batman replies by saying "Says who?"
