Synopsis for "Trust"

Stephanie Brown is playing ping-pong with her friend Padma when Proxy calls her. The police have cornered a man suspected of murdering his wife in the Financial District, and though Nick Gage was acting as the negotiator, the situation has turned into a shootout. Griswald escapes on foot, and Gage chases after him. He catches up but falters when Griswald asks him if he knows what it's like to lose a wife. Griswald's arms turn into clay, and he throws Gage off the roof. Batgirl catches him, and they make it safely to the ground. Proxy tells Batgirl that Clayface—as “Griswald” turns out to be—has gone inside Gotham Bank & Trust.

Proxy cannot tell which of the patrons is Clayface, so Batgirl sneaks inside the bank and sets off the silent alarm, initiating lockdown. She throws gooperangs at all of the patrons, but none of them are Clayface and they come to think that Batgirl is robbing the bank. One of the tellers says she needs to talk to the manager, Amelie Griswald, who has gone down to the vault, and Batgirl realizes Clayface is still inside. She stops Clayface from entering the vault, and their fight takes them back to the floor, where Clayface takes Batgirl's form to confuse the newly arrived Gage. One Batgirl tells him to shoot her because she'll bleed, proving her identity, and Gage shoots the other, who transforms back into Clayface. Having used up her gooperangs, Batgirl improvises and uses the fire sprinklers to freeze Clayface.

Clayface is taken away to Arkham Asylum. Gage tells Batgirl that Clayface needed Amelie Griswald's clearance to access a safety deposit box he had at the bank, in which he had stored a photograph of his late wife. Batgirl considers killing two people to get to a photograph “romantic, but supremely messed up,” but Gage sympathizes.
