Synopsis for "Gang War"
After stopping several thugs from beating up an old lady Batgirl is fed a tip about Spoiler being caught in the middle of a gang war. When Eiko Hashigawa, head of a crime family, vowed revenge against the rival families of Gotham for her father's murder, Spoiler tried and failed to stop her revenge rampage. Eiko would never want Spoiler harmed, but the Hashigawas think Stephanie is a loose end and have spent weeks hunting her. Since the head of the family has gone deep underground, she doesn't know about the manhunt and cannot call it off.
Batgirl seeks and finds Spoiler mopping the floor with one dozen of thugs. Batgirl leaps into the fray when a particularly tough assassin attacks Spoiler. Then she warns that Spoiler is under the protection of Eiko Hashigawa... and of the Bat-Family. Facing the possibility of getting killed by their clan's head and the certainty of getting chased down by all Gotham's vigilantes, the thugs back off.
Still Barbara thinks Stephanie needs to stay in a safe place for a while, so she takes Steph to an apartment owned by Luke Fox. Later Barbara and Luke are having dinner, and Barbara reveals she has been having nightmares, dreaming she's lying down, motionless as something humanoid stares down at her.
