Synopsis for "Old Friends"
Barbara Gordon has set up her very own energy company. Luke Fox expresses surprise at Barbara changing her mind about it, but Barbara doesn't know what he's talking about. Later Batgirl and Batwing stop a pair of bank robbers. Batgirl doesn't remember their prior meeting, but her friends confirm she already beat them down in the past. Barbara realizes something is seriously wrong with her photographic memory. An analysis shows her brain has been tampered with.
Barbara later meets up with Dinah Lance and tells of her memory troubles. Barbara investigates where she was the night she supposedly called to the GCPD to feed them information.[1] Apparently she made that call while staying in Luke's apartment. Yet she doesn't remember anything, and Luke confirms she wasn't at his apartment.
Batgirl and Black Canary get a lead and head to Burnside's Hall of records looking for clues. They find an abandoned bunker beneath the building and the man who has been tampering with Barbara's head. He claims those memories belong to the Fugue, He knows everything about Barbara and her allies and can alter and rewrite her memories at will upon toucing her.
Both heroines fight Fugue and shatter his mask. He's Greg, the man who Barbara believes to be her best friend from middle school. Fugue manages to tinker with Batgirl's mind again and runs off. Black Canary wants to hunt him down, but she cannot leave Batgirl's side. Her friend is in a coma.
