Synopsis for "Beyond Burnside, Part Three"

Barbara comes around after getting knocked out by Wen Lu.[1] As she is being walked out of the ring, Barbara hears Wen is deaf and wonders if that is her secret: by limiting herself in one area, she can achieve a greater focus.

Still dizzy from the beatdown, Barbara goes over her memories of the fight. Wen "the Moth" Lu and the Japanese schoolgirl that attacked Kai have the same tattoo. Which means Kai is in danger.

Batgirl rushes back the hotel room to discover Wen Lu trashing the place and Kai locked in the bathroom. Batgirl fights and drives the Moth off. Then she changes back to her civilian identity and gets Kai out of the bathroom. Barbara asks him, without beating around the bush, what he is not telling her. Kai dodges her questions and shuts down.

Barbara decides to go. Kai is definitely trouble, and if he will not tell her what trouble has gotten into, she will have to find Wen Lu and get the truth from her. She feels guilty about leaving him, but he will not be safe until she gets to the bottom of this case.

Wen Lu's trail leads to Seoul. Barbara takes a flight during which she deals with a very annoying salesman. His antics give Barbara a new clue to solve the case: Kai said his friend Neil -from their school's computer club- got him a work in "data distribution".[2] Kai had food poisoning in Okinawa, although she ate the same stuff and was fine.[3]

What if Neil studied bioencryption? Kai didn't have food poisoning. He had information poisoning. He was transporting bioencrypted bacteria.

Barbara arrives on Okinawa and investigates Wen Lu. She is surprised to find some kind of study guide in her locker. Afterwards Batgirl looks into a construction site. She realizes too late it is a trap. She is surrounded by Wen Lu and another "student". And their "teacher" has gone to Shanghai to find Kai.
