Synopsis for "One Way or Another, Part 1 of 6"

Following the events of Fear State, the Batgirls are picking up the pieces. As the Oracle network and their clock tower headquarters have been destroyed, they have relocated to a loft in Gotham's latest gentrifying neighbourhood "The Hill", which is currently the site of a rash of serial killings, as well as graffiti murals drawn by a street artist known only as "Tutor". Stephanie is characteristically optimistic about the move, while Cassandra is largely apathetic. Barbara warns them that they need to keep a low profile to avoid being found by Seer.

The morning after the move-in, Barbara puts the Batgirls to work rebuilding the Oracle network, but while they are working they notice members of a local gang, the Hill's Angels, apparently robbing some construction workers. They attack the muggers but notice the workers are acting strangely, almost zombielike. They eventually get home at 3AM and Barbara, worried that they had been killed or captured, is waiting for them. She orders them to get some sleep but they notice their neighbour throwing a human-sized garbage bag in a dumpster in the alley next to their building. They go out to investigate and are attacked by a group of former Magistrate agents called The Saints. Meanwhile, Seer hacks into Barbara's new computer rig.
