Quote1 Materialism. Stuff. Things. Greed. Stop. Think what it costs you, the price of convenience. The average human life last little over 600,000 hours -- one third of which we spend asleep. Yet we trade that precious time, for what? More stuff. The Gotham machine grinds on, juicing us of our hours. We give it to the billionaires, the pigs, The Bats -- whatever parasites decide to rise up and place a premium on products over life. But do not despair. You will learn -- I will be your tutor. Synopsis for "One Way or Another, Part 3 of 6"

Cassandra is able to get Stephanie to shake off Tutor's mind control and the Batgirls rush him, but he hits them with a mix of Fear Toxin and nitrous oxide that causes them to hallucinate their supervillain fathers. Cassandra has enough wherewithal to pull them out with her grappling hook. In the clear air they recover and head home. Tutor is holding an art show at the docks on the weekend, so Barbara decides the Batgirls will stake it out and be ready to capture him. She reluctantly agrees to also attend in civilian garb when Stephanie begs her.

At the art show, which is on the deck of a docked ship, Barbara bumps into her college boyfriend Charles Dante, who is now an art therapist. Tutor's installation is revealed to be a huge structure made of the attendee's stolen possessions and they begin to pull it apart, but they all simultaneously receive a video call from Tutor. Barbara realises from the background that he is inside the ship and the Batgirls rush in to confront him.

The Batgirls try to fight Tutor but he is again able to take over Stephanie's mind and Cass struggles to fight both of them without hurting Stephanie. She flies into a rage when Tutor almost hits Stephanie and he flees. Barbara tells them not to pursue him as he likely has traps prepared. The Saints are watching from a distance, and when the Batgirls do not chase Tutor they head down to the docks to pick up their trail.

Back at the Batgirls' loft Stephanie feels like the weak link in the team as she as the only one susceptible to Tutor's mind control, but Cass assures her she is stronger than she thinks. Cassandra returns Mr. Dhaliwal's pot (retrieved from Tutor's sculpture) without letting him see her.

Just before she goes to bed, Barbara gets a call apparently from Nightwing, but when "he" starts insulting her, she realises it is Seer using a voice modulator. Seer hacks her computer system and puts an image on every screen of Nightwing bloodied, tied up and seemingly infected with Joker Venom.
