Synopsis for "The Bat & The Cat, Chapter 2: Up on the Housetop"
In the past, Bruce looks over information how Jimmy the Lion was just killed by the Joker overnight. Selina goes to see the Joker, running into Scott Huff and knocking him out before entering his lair. She berates him for not cleaning up after himself after killing Jimmy, since Batman's looking into it, but Joker doesn't care since he's “chaos and destruction.” Selina angrily throws the necklace she stole from him at the Joker, so that Batman won't connect her to the case. Catwoman later finds Batman trying to crack open an unbreakable safe in Jimmy's house. She tries to get him to stop and move on, while Batman points out that Jimmy had a diamond necklace that went missing after his death. Later at the dinner table, Bruce talks about how there were only jewels in the safe but no necklace, as Selina tries to imply that Joker simply took the necklace for funds. That night, Batman finally confronts Catwoman, knowing that the necklace was of a lion, and asks her if she was there with the Joker that night. She responds no.
In the present, former Joker henchman Scott Huff is found dead by Batman and Catwoman, murdered by the Phantasm. Later, Warren Poland goes to Porky's, drinking to “the Angel of Death”, before dying soon after. Brian Patchett tries to escape the Phantasm in a subway, but is cornered and soon killed as well. Bruce and Selina see the Bat Signal, though Bruce notices the angle is off, indicating it's not Gordon sending it. The two arrive to see the Joker there, who pulls out his prop gun, waving his white flag on his knees, begging them to save him from the Phantasm.
In the future, Joker asks Selina how she's going to kill him, which she replies she's going to slice his neck with her fingernail. Joker goes to get a drink for the both of them, where he talks about their encounter before their first wedding, how she sliced open his neck before and even dared him to let it go, but she knew that he'd always survive somehow. He continues how always coming back from being half dead made him feel so alive, and always felt better than nowadays when everything is just the same. Joker pulls out a gun from the freezer, shooting directly at the couch where Selina was. However, she's not there, and suddenly appears behind him, knocking the gun out of his hand with a picture frame. He tries to pull out a knife, but she simply kicks it out of his hand. She tells him how she could never get Andrea out of her head, and would always beg Bruce just to let her kill him. Even as he died, he made her swear to him that she'd be good, which Joker says is pretty funny. Selina slices Joker's throat with her fingernails, as she watches him bleed out on the floor.
