Notes
- There are several continuity errors in this story:
- Batman and Superman discovers the existence of the Sixth Dimension much earlier in their lifetimes as it only happened during the The Sixth Dimension storyline;
- Batman, Superman and Bat-Mite should not be able to journey to this plane of existence without The Brothers Three's approval due to the Sixth Dimension being closed off to lesser beings which was also originally mentioned by Mxyzptlk;
- Superman described the first three dimensions as dealing with geometry and shape, while the next three dimensions deal with time. The Fifth Dimension is where time has the energy to create infinite possibilities and the Sixth Dimension is where all time exists at once. However, this description contradicts the meaning of Fifth Dimension, which has always involved imagination, and the explanation of the Sixth Dimension from the original storyline which depicted both the Fifth Dimension and the Sixth Dimension as realms outside of time and the Sixth even beyond imagination itself.
Trivia
- While in the Second Dimension, Batman and Superman heavily resemble their Super Friends counterparts from Earth 1956, while Bat-Mite resembles his counterpart from the New Batman Adventures animated series.
- The Olsen Squad members are obviously references to the many Jimmy Olsen transformations from the Pre-Crisis continuity, including:
- Elastic Lad from Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen #31;
- Human Flame Thrower from Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen #33;
- Human Octopus from Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen #41;
- Wolf-Man from Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen #44;
- Giant Turtle Man from Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen #53;
- Human Porcupine from Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen #65;
- Flamebird from Superman #158.
- The Second Dimension is more commonly known as the In-Between.[1]
- The octopus-like creature in the Sixth Dimension also resemble the same creature from The Flash (Volume 6).
- The gauntlet that Mxyzptlk conjures to hit the Imps is a homage to Marvel's Infinity Gauntlet.
- The first Bat-Mite panels, where he is on a roof as a lightning falls behind him, and states "I am the Mite", are homages to the iconic Batman scene from the Batman animated series.
- This scene was similarly referenced for the first time in Wonder Woman #778.
- One of Metropolis streets is named after the DC artist, Tamra Bonvillain.
