Synopsis for "City of Light, Part 3"
Bruce Wayne wakes from a nightmare about the boy in a coma to the news report that Wayne Tower escaped the bombing unscathed. The building is too well-built, and no lives were lost and only a parking garage was destroyed. The news anchor commends Batgirl for her actions, but wonders where Batman was. The word "Purge" is found at the site, written in phosphorescent letters.
Evan Slate is likewise displeased with the news, but he looks forward to hanging up Rahn's portrait of Batman to contrast it with his plans for Neo Gotham. He is pleased when Angela tells him Batman is currently sitting for Rahn, but by the time he arrives at the Submergists' loft, Batman has left. Slate hears his assistant Celia's voice and returns to his home, where he finds her severely injured. She blames Batman.
Cassandra Cain receives flowers from Javier, and she decides it doesn't matter why Batman tried to take Batgirl from her, the bat symbol means something. Batman, meanwhile, visits the boy, who has woken from his coma. He assures Batman that his injuries weren't his fault before dying.
