Synopsis for "Like a Bat Outta Gotham"

Batman is attacked at a research lab by Man-Bat, who then flies off into the night.

Batman and Batgirl investigate Kirk's apartment and laboratory in PackCo, looking for clues as to why he transformed himself into Man-Bat. Inside, they meet one of Kirk's coworkers, who tells them that business has been slow and Kirk is devoted to his family. Soon, they hear a report of a break-in, where Man-Bat throws Batman out of a window.

In the Batcave, Batman confirms that the creature is indeed Kirk, while Batgirl informs him of a message from a doctor, stating that Francine is perfectly fine.

At Dr. Cairnes' room, they find Francine being sedated, and the doctor admits that he was blackmailed by Horace Pack into fabricating her condition.

Batman tracks Man-Bat to PackCo, where Horace tries to kill Kirk for failing to steal some research. However, Batman intervenes and injects Man-Bat with the antidote, explaining that Horace was responsible for transforming Kirk and kidnapping his wife, forcing him to commit industrial espionage.

At GCPD Headquarters, James Gordon tells Batman that the district attorney is acquitting Kirk, although it will be difficult for him to get a job.
