Synopsis for "Darker Than Death, Part Four"
Charles Billingsworth claims the nude photographs he has of Lilith Rutledge were a gift she gave him during their affair, and he denies any wrongdoing. His son Conrad confronts Charles about how he pushed Conrad into proposing to Lilith's sister Janie. He admits to being the father of Miriam Hargrove's baby and reveals he knows how Charles squandered their family fortune.
Batman follows Conrad to Moe's Junker where he meets Benny the Lamb. Batman questions Benny the Lamb regarding Janie's whereabouts, but becomes convinced that Benny isn't involved when he waxes lyrical about "independence" and "isolation."
Lilith wakes up to find another of her sister's fingers on her pillow. Bruce decides to pay the ransom himself and drives Lilith to Sutter's Lake for the dropoff. Lilith completes the dropoff on her own and drives back to Wayne Manor while Batman hides himself nearby. When no one comes to collect the briefcase, he investigates and finds Janie dead in the water.
