Synopsis for "Aftershock: The Gauntlet"
Batman continues to rescue people around Gotham City. He spots an armed robbery in progress and stops the thugs from killing their victims. Once they are safe, Batman heads towards the Gotham Millennium Dome to rescue some of the high society people that are trapped in the collapsed round tower.
The wealthy people have been stranded for two weeks already and they are starving. They decide that it is time to choose one of them to be sacrificed to be used as food for the rest of them. They use straws to choose who will be the man or woman sacrificed and a man called David is the unlucky one. They give him a bottle of brandy and a paper sheet to write his last will.
Batman approaches the building, but he is suddenly attacked by a vulture. Batman falls from a high place to a level below full of debris. He remembers that there is a zoo at the tower and that the animals might have escaped after the quake. A black panther attacks Batman and after struggling for a while, Batman manages to defeat the beast and starts to climb to the top of the towers where the trapped people are supposed to be.
David, the man who was chosen to sacrifice, gets drunk because of the brandy and refuses to be killed. He attacks one of the men among them and kills him using the broken bottle of brandy. When they realize what they just did, Batman appears at the elevator and tells them that he will help them get out of there and while doing so, he learns that the dead man was the second victim of the cannibal group of socialites.
Batman takes them all out and screams in anger, pain and impotence just before he continues saving the people in need of the once mighty Gotham City.
