Synopsis for "Aftershock: The Gauntlet"
Batman continues to rescue people around Gotham City. He spotted an armed robbery in progress and stopped the thugs from killing their victims. Once they were safe, Batman headed towards the Gotham Millennium Dome to rescue some of the high society people that were trapped in the collapsed round tower.
The wealthy people have been stranded for two weeks already and they were starving. They decided that it was time for choosing one of them to be sacrificed to be used as food for the rest of them. They used straws to choose who would be the man or woman sacrificed and a man called David was the unlucky one. They gave him a bottle of brandy and a paper sheet to write his last will.
Batman approached the building, but he was suddenly attacked by a vulture. Batman fell from a high place to a level below full of debris. He remembered that there was a zoo a the tower and that the animals might have escaped after the quake. A black panther attacked Batman and after struggling for a while, Batman managed to defeat the beast and started to climb to the top of the towers where the trapped people were supposed to be.
David, the man who was chosen to sacrifice, got drunk because od the brandy and refused to be killed. He attacked one of the men among them and killed him using the broken bottle of brandy. When they realize what the just did, Batman appeared at the elevator and told them that he would help them get out of there and while doing so, he learned that the dead man was the second victim of the cannibal group of socialites.
Batman took them all out and screamed in anger, pain and impotence just before he continued saving the people in need of the once mighty Gotham City.
