Batman: Streets of Gotham #1 is an issue of the series Batman: Streets of Gotham (Volume 1) with a cover date of August, 2009.

Synopsis for "Ignition!"

Commissioner Gordon arrives at a jewelry store and quickly clears up the misunderstanding which has devolved into violence: The clerk set off the alarm when he saw his customer was Harley Quinn, but she is there legitimately, having been freed from Arkham Asylum and with money she earned helping Catwoman get even with Hush. She pays the clerk for the jewelry and the damages, and Gordon lets her go, figuring it would be too much trouble to keep her since Gotham Central and Arkham Asylum have both been damaged. Batman yanks Harley Quinn up onto a rooftop and tells her to use the money to start a new life elsewhere.

Abuse beats up a pimp and client to save twelve-year-old Katy, a runaway forced into prostitution, but after he drives off in the client's limo, an uncostumed Firefly bumps into her as he walks by. He returns to the club Black Mask gave him as a hideout while across the city the other people Firefly has bumped into recently, whom he calls “kindling,” suddenly are engulfed in flames. Damian Wayne is playing chess with Thomas Elliot when he sees a special report on the crisis, and he rushes off. Elliot muses that the city has gone to Hell without Bruce if second-stringers like Firefly are getting this bold, and he wonders how to spin this to his advantage.

Batman and Robin help extinguish the victims. Batman realizes there are incendiary chips underneath their skin in the shape of a bug, and he tells Gordon to have his people analyze the chips as he does the same, thinking to trace them back to Lynns. Robin calls Batman up onto the rooftop to see that the city is on fire.
