• It is the first time that the real face of Joker, prior his transformation, can be seen in an animation.
• This can be the most violent episode of the series, where Joker actually kills Batman several times in various different fashions only for fun, always resurrecting him.
• The premise of this episode is partially based on Superman: Emperor Joker.
• Joker's henchmen are modeled after prominent silent film actors from the 1920s: Charlie Chaplin, Harold Lloyd, Oliver Hardy and Buster Keaton.
• Bat-Mite breaks the Fourth Wall a lot of times: he is reading a Who's Who: The Definitive Directory of the DC Universe Vol 1 23 issue where Ten-Eyed Man profile can be seen; in his particular shrine, he shows statues and posters referring Batman Vol 1 11 and Batman Vol 1 251 covers, Joker Fishes, and Batman: A Death in the Family saga.
• Bat-Mite closes the episode with a looney-tunesque "That's all folks".
