Batman: The Brave and the Bold #4 is an issue of the series Batman: The Brave and the Bold (Volume 1) with a cover date of June, 2009.

Synopsis for "Menace of the Time Thief!"

Felix Faust uses his Alchemy Stone to transform Batman into a helpless toddler, easily imprisoned in a local daycare center. Undeterred, the Caped Crusader enlists two other toddlers to help him break the stone, foiling Faust's spell before it can be spread to the rest of the city.

A much stranger adventure embroils Batman - and Aquaman - on Earth Day 2009, as dinosaurs and Roman legionnaires suddenly overrun a seaside amusement park. Immediately suspecting time-traveler sabotage, the heroes consult Rip Hunter and Bonnie Baxter, who confirm their suspicions and explain the saboteur in question must be compressing the entire space-time continuum, with possibly apocalyptic consequences. Seconds later, a minor recoil from the polluted timestream regresses the couple into cavemen.

Commandeering Hunter's Time Sphere, Batman and Aquaman trace the saboteur to ancient Syracuse, fighting their way through a mob of time-displaced warriors in the process. Their efforts eventually bring them to the saboteur - the eco-terrorist Doctor Cyber, who is manipulating the timestream as a means of resetting all civilization, so she may remold it into something less harmful to Earth's environment.

Though sympathizing with Cyber's goals, Aquaman and Batman nevertheless pursue the renegade scientist, unwilling to let her risk the timestream - and all the lives within it - for a single goal. As Cyber tries to escape on her personal time machine, the heroes manage to disrupt a piece of its hardware, causing it to stop in Atlantis on Earth Day 2011. When Cyber still refuses to surrender, Batman shows her Atlantis' entire ecosystem deteriorating, as both Atlanteans and wildlife regress into prehistoric beasts.

Horrified - especially after a Liopleurodon almost eats her - Cyber finally admits her fault and issues an abort command on her time machine. Though Batman warns that the time machine's damage might make such a command fatal for the user, Cyber presses on; in moments, the timestream is returned to normal, while Cyber vanishes into nothingness, leaving Batman and Aquaman to ponder her sacrifice and contemplate and what the un-tampered future may hold for Earth.
