Synopsis for "Guilty"

On August 2nd, Mario Falcone and Louisa Falcone hold a family meeting in Mario's penthouse. The Falcones have been preparing to retake their empire by gathering their forces, including allies from outside Gotham. Batman infiltrates the meeting in disguise and is surprised to see Selina Kyle. Selina quickly sees through Batman's disguise and outs him to the Falcones, causing them to fire at him wildly. Donning her Catwoman suit, Selina attacks Batman and pushes him onto the penthouse's balcony, claiming she's saving him. Mario tells his men to stand down to avoid hitting Selina but a final shot hits Batman. While his suit prevents the bullet from seriously injuring him, its force throws Batman off the balcony. Catwoman leaps after him, intending to save him but he halts their fall using a grappling line. As they dangle above the city, Catwoman flirts with Batman but his questions about her shooting irritate her and she cuts the line sending them crashing through a skylight into an apartment below. Catwoman warns Batman not to believe the things he will hear about her before fleeing. Batman decides not to chase her because he is too injured.

In Arkham Asylum, Two-Face is holding the Crime Doctor angrily demanding to know how he knows Gilda. The Joker interrupts Two-Face and accidently enrages him by calling him "Harvey". The Joker nervously apologizes and corrects his mistake before requesting to be part of Two-Face's "crew" in exchange for control of Arkham. Two-Face flips a coin to decide whether to ally with the Joker. The coin lands scarred side up. However without showing Joker the coin, Two-Face accepts his offer; as they shake hands to cement their partnership, the Joker crosses his fingers behind his back.

In the Batcave, Batman is reviewing Robin's research into Mario Falcone. Robin had discovered Mario had been committed to the Squire Institute for the Criminally Insane after burning down his house over a year earlier. Soon after, the Squire Institute reported a patient named Grace Powell, whom Robin suspected was Gilda Dent under an alias, had escaped. Batman confirms Robin's hunch, informing him "Powell" was Gilda's maiden name. Furthermore, while viewing the video of Gilda's escape, Batman identifies the men helping her escape as Mario's fake FBI "agents" Edwards and Sullivan and concludes the Dents and Falcones are working together.

Selina visits Louisa Falcone to end their partnership. Louisa tells Selina she will give Selina the proof of her parentage she sought in Rome if Selina gives her the Capo Di Capi Ring she stole in Rome. To overcome Selina's intense distrust, Louisa admits Selina is her daughter, as Selina had suspected, and calls her the "lost heir of the Falcone family." The women hug and Louisa reassures Selina she never wants to lie to her again.

Batman and Robin investigate the Dents' old house, where Jim Gordon Jr. had been kept. At Batman's direction, the house had remained a crime scene since Jr. was rescued. In the basement, Batman discovers a marksmanship trophy Gilda won in college and realizes he had overlooked her holding a .22 pistol, Holiday's weapon of choice, the night Jr. was rescued.

Mario is awoken by Gilda breaking into his room. Uncertain who it is, Mario pulls his gun and demands the intruder identify themselves. Gilda says she is the only Holiday who matters. Gilda warns Mario that Two-Face is a threat to them. Mario protests he killed Harvey. However, Gilda claims while "Harvey Dent" is dead, Two-Face is alive and he suspects he is not the father of her child.
