Batman: Wayne Family Adventures #1 is a chapter in the digital-first series Batman: Wayne Family Adventures (Volume 1 (Digital)) with a cover date of September, 2021.

Synopsis for "Ep. 1 - Moving In"

Duke Thomas is moving into Wayne Manor where he is greeted by Bruce Wayne, Alfred Pennyworth, and Damian Wayne. Alfred states that he and Bruce will oversee the movers and suggests and Damian give Duke a tour. Duke takes one look at Damian's unimpressed stare and tries to get out of the tour but is sent off by Alfred anyway.

As Damian shows Duke around, they come to the family portrait, which features Bruce Wayne, Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake, Cassandra Cain, and Damian Wayne. Damian clarifies that there are several members of the family missing (Barbara Gordon, Stephanie Brown, Luke Fox, and Kate Kane) but that Bruce has been meaning to have the family portrait updated. Duke asks if everyone lives at the manor, to which Damian replies that only Bruce, Damian, Alfred, and now Duke are permanent residents.

Damian then shows Duke to his new bedroom, the ballroom, and the kitchen. Damian informs Duke that the kitchen is Alfred's domain and that Bruce has been banned from the kitchen.

Finally, Damian takes Duke to the Batcave, where Duke asks about the significance of the giant dinosaur. Damian says that it eats intruders, to which Duke responds with "Whoa. Cool."

They then make their way out to the grounds, where Damian warns Duke to be careful of booby traps. This is where Bruce finds them. He sends Damian inside to help Alfred and asks Duke how he liked the tour. Duke expresses his surprise that the dinosaur in the cave eats intruders and Bruce corrects him, explaining the dinosaur is just a souvenir and Damian must have been having a bit of fun. Duke assumes then, that Damian must have also been joking about the booby traps in the yard, but Bruce is quick to correct this. He sheepishly explains that they just had a laser grid installed a few weeks earlier but it's only armed at night.

Duke is immensely overwhelmed. Bruce comforts him, stating that he knows moving to a new can be an adjustment and that everyone in the family will be there to help Duke through it. Duke thanks Bruce, who then formally welcomes Duke to the family.
