Synopsis for "He Meets His Match, the Grisly Ghoul"

After a recap of the previous episode, Gotham City suffers a blackout and the Bad Pennies gang retreat just as the police show up. The officers investigate the van and find Batman and Robin who ask them to cut them loose.

Back at GCPD headquarters, the Dynamic Duo discuss things over with the chief and commissioner, telling them that they recorded the audio of everything that have encountered over the previous events of the episode. When they play the tape back in the Batcave, Robin discovers to his utmost shock that Susie is a member of the gang. Overcoming his heartbreak and disbelief, Batman sends him as Dick Grayson to investigate the Easy Living Candy Store.

The next morning, with Batman watching from a camera, Dick arrives at the candy store in a greaser's jacket and trousers, greeting those present, Nick and Susie. Apparently, he has decided to drop out. Nick offers him a cigarette but coughs it out, lying that had two packs earlier. Even so, Nick gives him a tip as to where and when the Bad Pennies' next robbery will be…but when Dick leaves, Nick angrily tells Susie that the so-called dropout never had a weed in his life.

As Batman and Robin race to the bar, the Joker decides to present Susie with a special bonus: a half-pint bottle of imported Canadian perfume called "Une Nuit Sans Fin" (French for "One Endless Night"). He instructs her not to open it until she refills the milk machine. After Batman defeats the armed jukebox, he tells Robin that because Nick knew that he was not a smoker, he believes that he was working with the police, and, knowing that Susie's life will not be worth anything since he grilled her, they decide to race back to the school. Meanwhile, Joker makes a bet with a Vegas bookie called Pete the Swede to place the stakes at 20-1 on Disko Tech winning the school game.

Back at the school, Susie fills the milk machines just as Batman and Robin rush in, warning her that the Joker will discard her, but she doesn't believe them and applies the perfume in a farewell gesture. She then slumps. Batman concludes that the perfume was poisoned.

After Nick informs Joker of Susie's death, they head to the school and shoot a photograph of Woodrow Roosevelt's basketball team holding the pre-college exam papers which will secure them being expelled. His plan, however is quickly foiled when Batman and Robin appear from the rafters, announcing that they faked the papers, saved Susie by giving her a Universal Antidote Pill and she repaid them by giving away Joker's scheme. After a fight follows, Batman tells the basketball players to stick to their books, citing Joker as a prime example as to where easy living will get them.

In the end, Susie is sent away to a school for delinquent girls. She bids Bruce and Dick a tearful goodbye, knowing that if it hadn't been for the blackout, Batman and Robin would not be alive today.
