Synopsis for "Gotham's Whisper"
Barbara Gordon retires as Commissioner and is forced to attend an elaborate retirement gala held by Donovan Lumos. Terry McGinnis also infiltrates the party using a fake invitation and the alias "Neal Gibson". Immediately after Barbara's retirement speech Lumos announces that Wayne-Powers will be privately funding the GCPD going forwards, much to her and Terry's shock. Terry also overhears two staffers arguing about the Mayor not showing up, and learns that the Mayor has been missing for 32 hours.
Lumos talks privately with an outraged Barbara and openly admits that he doesn't care about Gotham and only wants money and power, but also promises that he will do everything possible to protect Gotham as it is the source of his wealth. Terry approaches Office Beam Boonma, the only other person not happy with Lumos' announcement. Hoping he can question her about the mayor he invites her to ditch the party and she takes him to a fast food joint. She reveals that she knew he was trying to get information out of her the moment he first spoke to her and smashes his head into the table. As she walks away, warning him never to approach her again, Terry reflects that she'll make a great ally.
Terry sneaks into the mayor's residence and heads up to the office. However, when he steps in he realises it is a trap set by the Living Gotham. The holographic illusion of the office disappears to reveal a sealed room with unbreakable metal walls, and he is attacked by the Sword of Gotham.
