Meltdown is an episode of season 1 of Batman Beyond. It premiered on February 13, 1999.
Synopsis for "Meltdown"
Derek Powers is looking for a cure for his mutation and uses Victor Fries as a test subject by curing him, giving him a new body and life. When Victor is set free, Bruce gets suspicious and sends Terry to watch him. Fries says that he will become a good person until his new body fails and his condition resurfaces. Victor goes for help from Powers, but finds his purpose for them. He escapes and comes back with his new improved suit and freeze gun and goes on a rampage to murder Powers. Batman tries to stop him and ends up fighting not only Freeze, but a fully mutated Powers (a.k.a. Blight) also. He stops Blight but Victor dies in order to save Batman from dying in the crumbling building.
