I'm in... Provisionally. I've got some conditions. One, if you need me for something it better be big, because for me this city is job one. Two, if you 're going on a mission and I say I'm busy, I'm busy. Three, Gotham's off limits, unless I ask for your help.

Synopsis for "The Heart of the Matter, Part 3 of 3: Collateral Damage"

Batman sees his mom and brother as statues and believes they are dead. Bruce reassures him by telling him they are still alive and then a news report comes on that Detective Ben Singleton has proof that Richard Grayson used to be Nightwing. Bruce then decides that Terry will have to deal with this after Matter Master. Batman tries to think of a plan but Barda leaps into action. Matter Master weakens Barda but cannot change her as she is a New God. Micron then enlarges himself and takes on Matter Master. At first he pins him down but Matter Master turns the tables on him by knocking him out. Warhawk gets angry and charges at Matter Master but he gets the upper hand. Batman decides to free the hostages but Bruce tells him to take down Matter Master. Aquagirl then rushes to Warhawk's aid but Matter Master manages to defeat her as well. But before he can finish her off, Batman gets his attention away from her and takes him on.

Dana arrives home and is furious at Terry for leaving him. Before she can reach her room, her mom tells her that her brother, Doug is getting out of prison next week.

Batman gets the upper hand on Matter Master but he needs the League's help to stop him. He gets Micron and Warhawk to distract him while Barda attacks him, causing him to go into overload. Batman then has Green Lantern make a containment unit around Matter Master and soon his disease takes over and he dies. They then free the hostages and the League offer Batman another chance to join the League. This time, Batman accepts but under 3 conditions, one, Gotham comes first before any mission the League handles, two, if he's busy, he's busy and can't go with them on a mission, three, Gotham is off-limits to them unless he needs their help. The League accepts his terms and welcomes him to the League. Warhawk is at first against it but then comes to accept it.
