Synopsis for "Target: Batman, Part One"

On the news is reported that there's a shootout going on at the GCPD headquarters: there Barbara Gordon faces a criminal called Scab who is hallucinating. He sees a giant monster shaped like a bat, but the Commissioner does not know what he's talking about: there's no strange creature in sight and Batman is nowhere near the place. In the Manor, Bruce and Terry discuss the Matt situation: he's Robin now, after Bruce gave him the green light to go when there was no alternative to save Terry's life. Bruce sustains that if they don't give him a chance to be a hero, Matt will one day strike out on his own, just like Terry did before him, and this would put him in far more danger than giving him the opportunity to fight alongside Batman.

The discussion gets interrupted by Melanie Walker, who approached the Manor to find Terry and tell him she wants to have a story with him: after confronting themselves about their past together, Melanie's old career as a criminal and why Terry lives in Wayne Manor, the two suddenly kiss without realizing that Dana Tan is watching them, as she was looking for Terry to talk about the status of their relationship. Maxine then interrupts the two, because Bruce needs the presence of Terry right now: Melanie leaves and Batman prepares to intervene to help end the shootout in the police HQ. He also reluctantly accepts to bring Matt on the field with him: Batman and Robin are back once again.

Getting into the place, Barbara is shocked to see the new Robin while Terry tries to handle the situation, as Scab is delirious: he thinks Batman is a creature of hell, trying to take his soul. On a rampage, Scab brings out a shotgun and Terry barely intercepts the bullets with his suit, as Robin failed in following orders and securing the civilians. Scab is down, but Terry affirms Matt will never dress up as Robin again. Meanwhile, Adalyn Stern, reporter for the news, gets attacked in his apartment by a demonic monster resembling the Dark Knight.
