Synopsis for "The Final Joke: Part Two"
Barbara Gordon just found out the Joker is alive, and that he is in her office. The clown prince of crime, trying to bring back some memories, takes out his gun and aims at paralyzing Barbara with a gunshot again. The commissioner is ready though, and avoids the bullet, then she kicks the Joker out of her window: with everything planned, the Joker finds himself standing on a flying taxi, escaping from Barbara who deliriously runs to the site of the Wayne Family Center of Tomorrow, just destroyed by an hacked train.
There, Bruce Wayne, Lucas Fox and visiting guests Richard and Elainna Grayson are trapped in a falling elevator, but the Dynamic Duo of Batman and Robin save them just in time. As the two heroes fly away to investigate the train, Dick and Bruce argue about the decision of making a young kind a new Robin once again. In that moment, Jack Ryder and cameras transmit in the news an image of the new Robin, commented by Richard Grayson, mayor of Bludhaven. Joker is watching in delight: finding out there's a new Robin gives him a purpose, as nothing beats killing a young man dressed in red and green.
Meanwhile, Terry and Matt visit the site where the train stopped, in the territory dubbed as Old Gotham: Terry realizes Batman was far too focused on the new part of town and he promises to himself he will find time for this part of his city as well, once the crisis has ended. After saving some people who found shelter in a natural tunnel, Batman and Robin are approached by Barbara, who tells them they must gather with Bruce, as she has urgent and terrible news. Once face to face with Bruce, Barbara tells him the Joker is alive and Mr. Wayne then confirms he already suspected it, as he thought he recognized the voice of the madman while held comatose by Terminal: dressed up as a janitor and acting in silence, Joker was with him all along. This also confirms that the terrorist attack they just lived through was the opera of Batman's nemesis.
In the meantime, the clown prince of prime remembers with joy beating to death a young Jason Todd. Then, he retrieves the crowbar he used for the murder of the second Robin, ready to give it a go once again.
