Synopsis for "The Final Joke: Part Three"

After all the injured people from the Joker's terrorist attack have been hospitalized, Terry needs a break and finds one in the arms of his new love interest, his old flame and former criminal Melanie Walker. Meanwhile, the Joker is nowhere to be found: Batman does not even imagine what he plans. First, the clown prince of crime forces a former member of the Jokerz to blow out one of the gang's hideouts. Then, he starts a monologue about how thing should get back to the standard: no more stupid people running around using his name, no more shiny flying cars and towers and especially no more flying and all upgraded Batman and Robin.

He wants Gotham to get back to the grimy and gritty city it was, and his Throwbacks, former Jokerz he saw something in, will provide the necessary help. And even if this makes him a bit sad, he will have to use technology to take on Batman this time. He then takes one of his new subordinates, John, and brutally kills him, suggesting he might serve another purpose to him. As Bruce is trying to find Joker in the Batcave and gets signaled that a building exploded, Matt goes out trying to find Terry, leading to Richard Grayson again shouting at Bruce for letting Matthew be so independent as Robin: this could lead him to a very dark ending, and he knows from personal experience. Still, Matt finds Terry together with Mel: the two are still trying to find out what they want to do with their relationship, but of course Batman must leave when danger comes.

Getting to the place, Batman and Robin get attacked by the Joker's new subordinates, the Throwbacks, and then witness to the attack of the horrendous Joker Beyond: the clown prince of crime installed several cybernetic parts in the body of Johnny, including a screen in his chest to transmit himself on it. What evil tricks did the Joker install inside his former thug own dead body?
