Synopsis for "Rise of the Demon, Part 1"
In Neo-Gotham, the League of Assassins is trying to kill Curaré, a skilled assassin herself, who manages to flee. In the meantime, Bruce Wayne enters the Batcave after his apparent death, finding it changed, especially because Terry invites family and friends there without problems. As Terry welcomes him back, even hugging him to express how much he missed him, the two promise each other to talk later, as Terry wants to get things cleared up with her former fiancee Dana Tan, who just learned Terry is Batman.
In the GCPD Central, commissioner Barbara Gordon gets notified about the murder of Carter Wilson, better known as the gang leader Terminal, beaten savagely to death by an unknown assailant. While commenting this with an agent, Curaré breaks into the building confronting Barbara herself: she declares her intention to be peaceful, as she is just seeking to talk with Batman and knows Barbara can contact him. In the Batcave, Bruce and Matt chat about the fact that Wayne suspects the Joker came really back from the dead, then they discuss Terry new suit, the X-7 Prototype, with Bruce revealing that it was in stasis as the suit is so dangerous that it might kill its own user.
Then on the roof of the GCPD Central, Commissioner Gordon and Curaré try to activate the Bat-Signal, but they get ambushed by the League: almost succumbing to the threat, they barely get to the signal in time, but there's a problem: Terry is having a confrontation with Dana and just told her he realized he cannot be Batman in the same way that Bruce did. He knows Bruce sacrificed everything for the cape, never having a personal life, and he does not want this for him. He does not want to become a bitter, lonely man one day. And so, for the first time, he resist the urge to answer the call, not knowing that the lives of Curaré and Barbara Gordon might be the price of his choice.
