Commissioner Gordon is visiting his daughter in Washington DC when they are interrupted by ex-criminal Tad Wolfe. Wolfe announces that he is in need of police protection because the Syndicate has put out a contract on him. The three are then startled by the sudden appearance of a speeding car that begins shooting at them. Barbara Gordon jumps into action as Batgirl and confronts a Syndicate assassin known as Diamond Lilly. She manages to take away Lillys prized diamond gun. In the meantime commissioner Gordon is able to deliver Tad Wolfe to safety. Lilly and her henchmen pursue Batgirl to retrieve her gun. At one point, Batgirl throws the gun to the side of the road where it is quickly collected by the criminals. Lilly then uses the gun to attack and shoot Tad Wolfe. Wolfe drops to the ground and is supposedly dead. Batgirl then pursues Lilly and her gang down the road. Lilly attempts to shoot Batgirl but her gun has no effect. It turns out that Batgirl had removed the bullets when the gun was in her possession. She runs the criminal car off the road and into the water. Sometime later Tad Wolfe sits safely in police custody. He had merely acted like he was dead to fool the assassins into believing they had accomplished their goal. They inform Tad that they have arranged for him to have surgery to give him a new identity. Wolfe thanks Batgirl and commissioner Gordon as they wish him a merry Christmas.
