- This issue carries the legacy numbering of Batman #904.
- According to Bruce, it has been weeks since the epilogue of The Gotham War and the events of The Joker: The Man Who Stopped Laughing #12.
- However, the events of this story are later confirmed to take place in late January 2024.[1]
- The "Act II", "Intermezzo" and "Act III" of the Gotham Nocturne storyline take place in late 2023, between The Gotham War and the Mind Bomb storyline.
- During this storyline, Bruce's mind was severely damaged by the influence of Barbatos, the demonic Azmer's possession, his death and following resurrection (after an Afterlife journey) which may have altered his memory. This, mixed with Zur-En-Arrh's mind control, could in-universe explain Bruce's words from this issue.
- The second story takes place not long after the ending of Batman/Catwoman: The Gotham War: Scorched Earth #1 and implies that Vandal Savage's powers are now bound to Gotham City.
