Synopsis for "Happy Endings"

Batman fights the Suicide Squad to allow Catwoman to get back into the crypt and retrieve the Mother Box. Black Alice chases Selina inside but trips over a tripwire she set up and Catwoman knocks her out with a kick to the head. Catwoman isn't able to get the box out before the timer counts down to zero and the crypt begins disappearing into a Boom Tube.

Batman is close to getting overwhelmed, so he tells Deadeye what the crypt is. Deadeye, who didn't realise what Waller had done, abandons the fight to rescue his mother's coffin. Batman then tricks Gunsmith into shooting Bizarro by running past him and Bizarro attacks his teammate. While Bizarro is distracted, he runs to deactivate the force field around the crypt. As he works on it, he tries to tell Catwoman that he loves her but she doesn't let him. She tells him that they aren't destined for a happy ending, but a spectacular one.

Batman modifies the force field generator and then goads Bizarro into attacking him. He dodges past Bizarro and deactivates the field just in time for it to cut off his robotic arm. With the field down, the genetically engineered flying scorpions Lobo used the frag the rest of his people swarm at them. The Suicide Squad flee through the Boom Tube back to Earth just as Catwoman finally gets the Mother Box out. The Boom Tube winks out, leaving them and Gunsmith stranded.

Batman tries to figure out how to get it to work, but he then suddenly realises that the crypt was shielding the Mother Box's energy signature, and why. The air chills and the scorpions fall silent. He yells at Catwoman to run as an energy beam blasts out of the smoke and disintegrates Gunsmith. They see Darkseid standing at the end of a ruined street and run for their lives from the Omega Beams. Just as the beams are about to hit them, Batman is able to open a Boom Tube and they jump through to safety. Alone in the ruins, Darkseid simply smirks.

Batman and Catwoman emerge on a tropical island where they once spent time together. Bruce tries to stoically force down his feelings of fear but Catwoman tells him to take a moment to process what happened, as they walk together to the nearest town.
