Synopsis for "Superfriends, Part 1"
While he stops a train from falling into a gully, Superman is on the phone with his wife Lois Lane. She urges him to call his friend Batman to congratulate him for his engagement to Catwoman. Superman tries to play for time saying he's busy.
A similar scene happens between Batman and Catwoman. She argues that Superman is his closest friend, Batman unconvincingly answers that Gordon or Alfred are, and ends the conversation saying he's busy.
Clark and Lois are in a parking lot and she tells him she knows he doesn't trust Batman's fiancée. Also, she tells him Catwoman is probably capable of finding out who he is, considering he sports a not-so-unrecognizable disguise.
On top of a crane, from which Batman is making a criminal dangle, Catwoman reveals that she knows about Superman's other identity.
Superman identifies a "huge boulder" headed towards them, so he leaves his civil clothes behind and goes on his mission, reminded by Lois to call his friend afterwards.
Catwoman tells Batman she can see he's afraid to tell Superman about their engagement.
Later, in the desert, Superman fights a burning metahuman while he admits he didn't call Batman. Lois urges him to do so that night.
In the Batcave, Catwoman asks Batman if the problem is he's ashamed of her; he denies and explains, while she provokes him, that he has a strong lead for the metahuman's identity both he and Superman are investigating: he should be a Simon Echs, located in the Goodwin Tower. Superman and Lois are going there as well.
While they get into the elevator, the two men explain their women how different they are, how unsure about being actual friends and how inspiring they are to each other. As they finish their sentences, the two couples meet on top of the tower. After an awkward greeting, Batman and Superman knock out the foes they were looking for and Superman asks the other couple to go out with them to eat something together.
