Synopsis for "Batman and Robin Must Die, Part One: The Garden Death"
Simon Hurt has impersonated Thomas Wayne, claiming he never died in the first place, and seized control of Wayne Manor in the latest scandal to hit the Wayne family. He gloats to Batman and Robin, whom he has captured, and apparently shoots Batman in the head.
Three days earlier Batman and Robin are interrogating the Joker regarding his identities as Oberon Sexton and the Domino Killer, meaning he killed not only the real Sexton, but also Mr. Toad, and set up Gabriel Santo. He taunts Batman that it is too late to stop the chain of destruction he started unless he is as good as the original Batman. Batman tells Robin to stick with the Joker and the police while he takes Commissioner Gordon to the Bat-Bunker.
Gordon tells him about the flight of the drug dealers and suppliers from Gotham, and Batman admits that while he knows the Joker is only the start, he hasn't made all the connections yet, though there is a total solar eclipse in three days that has symbolic value for the people they're dealing with. Gordon reassures him. They work through the case from the beginning, and Gordon, who has a cold, suspects he might have the virus that activates the addiction Professor Pyg made infectious.
Gordon receives a text from Lt. Bilbao that the Joker asked to speak with Robin. Batman and Gordon rush back to headquarters, where Robin is beating the Joker with a crowbar. On their way the Batmobile is hit by a rocket and crashes into the street. They are surrounded by Dollotrons while they receive a report over the radio of a crisis at Blackgate: Agents of El Penitente have freed Professor Pyg.
