Synopsis for "Family Ties"

Batman and Robin are investigating Zach, a model student with one dark obsession—his adoration for Zsasz. The first day he misses school happens to coincide with the public trial of Zsasz. Batman and Robin are on the scene when a masked young man attacks the police and manages to free the killer. Batman and Robin jump into action, and Robin unmasks the attacker, calling him by name—Zach.

Shaken, Zach is taken hostage by Zsasz. In a moment of desperation, Zach confesses that he believes Zsasz is his father, which causes the killer to burst into laughter. Taking advantage of the distraction, Batman knocks Zsasz out cold. It's then revealed that Zach's real parents were killed by Zsasz, and due to the psychological trauma, Zach's mind tricked him into thinking that Zsasz was his father.

The next day, Damian, aware of Zach’s combat skills and soccer talent, begins to suspect that Principal Stone, the school's headmistress, might be his secret trainer. He confronts her but ends up embarrassing himself in front of the entire school. Principal Stone, unfazed, advises Bruce to find a way to channel his son's vivid imagination.

Later, Damian is teased by another student, who calls him "Art Boy." That evening, Bruce visits his son in his room and asks where the nickname comes from. Damian shyly shows him some sketches and a comic book he’s started drawing. Impressed by his son’s artistic talent, Bruce reassures him that he doesn’t have to go to school if it isn’t something he wants. Damian is about to respond when an alarm goes off.

A group of fanatics has gathered in an old Man-Bat hideout, preaching his supremacy and vowing to punish all false prophets. One by one, the men are taken down, until Flatline suddenly reveals herself and leaps into Robin’s arms. Batman, caught off guard by their closeness, wonders if there’s a connection between them he isn’t aware of.
