Synopsis for "Call Me Ishmael"

Ishmael, a killer serving Ra's al Ghul, had the power of depriving metahumans of their special abilities. Now, enhanced by the Demon thanks to the water of the Lazarus Pit, flowing through Ishmael's veins, he can "evolve" metahumans and that's what he did to The Signal, also known as Gotham teenage hero and Batman sidekick Duke Thomas. Orphan, wanting to save his friend, is assisted by Batman in tracking the vehicle transporting Ishmael and Duke away: acting alone, Cass blows up the truck and fights Ishmael, without restrain as the man cannot be killed thanks to the properties of the Lazarus Pit. Without holding back, Cass makes easy work of Ishmael and frees Duke, but her friend is in a state of shock as he cannot see light anymore, only darkness, as the powers of Ishmael changed him. As the two friends are hurt and alone, the symbol of Doom paints the sky.

Meanwhile, on the plane bringing Sofia Ramos back to Gotham, the girl still thinks herself a warrior of the Demon named Babylon. As Jeff and Tatsu talk about how and if Batman will be able to get her out of the Demon's brainwashing, Kaliber reveals himself a double agent and takes the plane together with Sofia: he wants the plane to crash, so Ra's will resurrect all four of them as faithful servants.
