• This episode is the second part of the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover, continuing from the Supergirl episode "Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part One" and continued in the The Flash episode "Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part Three".

Trivia

Earth-96 Superman (from the film Superman Returns) notes "This is the second time I've gone crazy and fought myself. This is presumably a reference to the events of the film Superman III. Superman Returns was stated by the filmmakers to serves as a sequel to the Christopher Reeve films Superman and Superman II (despite clearly taking place in a clearly different time period), but was supposed to ignore the events of Superman II and IV. This line may have been an attempt to re-canonize the events of, at least, the third film.
