Unmentioned by most geography texts, the Bavalan Islands are in the Southern Seas.

History

The First and Second World Wars widely bypassed these placid islands, but in the late 1940s new trade routes, between several newly-reopened Pacific seaports, criss-crossed in the Bavalans' vicinity, as did several new air cargo routes. Plans were afoot to construct an airport and a harbor, to transform this remote backwater into a world trading hub.

A small crew of gangsters got wind of this, and began enslaving the local natives for construction labor. One native woman escaped in a canoe, and luckily encountered two members of the famous Blackhawk Squadron. With the help of these roving aviators, the Bavalon people captured the slavers.
