Beast is a name that has been used by several different characters in the DC Universe.
The first Beast was a member of the first Suicide Squad, who served underneath Rick Flag during World War II. Another character named Beast was a demonic entity created by God in the Garden of Eden. Several characters also use names that incorporate the word Beast, like; Beast Boy, Beast Girl, B'wana Beast, Freedom Beast, KGBeast, and the Beast With No Name.
The Beast from Suicide Squad was created by John Ostrander and Grant Miehm, first appearing in Suicide Squad #26 (1989). The biblical Beast was adapted by Mike Carey and Marcelo Frusin based on the biblical figure of the same name, first appearing in Hellblazer #190 (2004).
