- The epilogue shows what Jon did after parting ways with Adrian at the ending of Watchmen #12. The aftermath of this issue is eventually shown in Doomsday Clock #10.
- According to Jon, all the alternate timelines of the Watchmen Universe– shown in the previous issues– have been destroyed.
- However, just before dying in Doomsday Clock #12, Jon will actually glimpse a final, alternate timeline, in which Janey asks him to stay with her in 1959. As a consequence of Jon choosing to leave the watch in the I.F. Chamber, he is never turned into Doctor Manhattan, married Janey a year later, and got his happy ending with her and their chldren.
- This issue is reprinted in Before Watchmen: Nite Owl/Dr. Manhattan.
