Beldia was a small, mountainous nation in Europe. It was liberated once, and revisited twice, by the Blackhawk Squadron.

History

During World War II the Blackhawk Squadron helped to liberate the small mountain nation of Beldia from the tyranny of its dictator, General Lobo, and his top executioner, Berio. Lobo was seen to go over a cliff in his car, but Berio escaped. This intervention prevented Beldia from becoming a satellite slave state.

Years later, during the Cold War, the Blackhawks returned to Beldia twice. The first time was in 1953, for the dedication of Blackhawk Peace Park, in the national capital. On this occasion several murder attempts were set in motion against the team, sponsored by "the Paymaster," who turned out to be Beldian philanthropist Baron Zei, who was arrested.

The team returned again, later that same year, to film a movie about their earlier adventure in that same nation. This movie project turned out to be an elaborate ruse by General Lobo, who had years earlier faked his own death by sending out a doppelganger in his place in the car. Blackhawk saw thru the scam, and both Berio and Lobo were captured alive.
