Beppo was a member of the Super-Pets until his teammates were infected with a mysterious virus that they spread to the rest of the globe, resulting in the death of all life. He cured them, but it was only temporary.
History
One day, Beppo and the Super-Pets were recounting their adventures for the day when suddenly Red Medvo burst into the Hall of Justice, completely feral. After a scuffle, Beppo managed to tranquilize Red Medvo and take him to the lab. There, he discovered that their foe was infected with a virus that was transmitted through bodily contact. To his horror, all of his teammates had been infected.
While Beppo was working on a cure, the Super-Pets spread the virus to the entire world. When he finally was able to create a cure, he could only develop enough for his teammates. For all other human and animal life, the virus was fatal in nineteen hours, resulting in a ring of corpses around Earth.
When Krypto returned to the ravaged Earth, Beppo and the others informed him of what happened. Just afterward, the cure Beppo had developed wore off and the infected Super-Pets turned feral once more, turning their sights to Krypto and Beppo.
