During the Cold War, Beran was a fledgling democracy, which on at least one occasion the Communist Party attempted to overthrow. Thanks to the Blackhawks, they failed.
History
In 1953, Beran elected a new president, Vogas. This election's outcome was an explicit rejection of Communism by the voters of Beran, and the Communist Party was not pleased.
A Red assassin named Vashily, and calling himself "John Smith," took on the task of eliminating President Vogas. This individual had earlier murdered the United World Council President, John Trask, in front of a crowd and in an enclosed space, with the Blackhawks on the scene, and had still escaped undetected.
The Blackhawks took charge of security for the inauguration of President Vogas, and the Soviet assassin did manage to get a bomb into the room, but that attempt was foiled, and evidence was gathered, that enabled Blackhawk and his men to trap the assassin at Beran's airport, where he was arrested.
