Bernard Chisholm fought a losing battle against Kryptonians hidden on Earth, but he was not believed.
History
Dr. Bernard Chisholm was an attending doctor at Metropolis General Hospital. He died of a heart attack after he caught the Kandorians who were stealing corpses. He was later brought back to life by the Kandorian's experiments.
Dr. Chisholm kidnapped Vala. He imprisoned her, waiting to expose her to the world as an alien. Chisholm had made several attempts to contact Lois Lane, but his mail had been contained in a Daily Planet file box, filled with postings believed to be hoaxes. He finally caught up with Lois at a restaurant in Metropolis where he tells her he detained several Kandorians in a safe location outside of Metropolis. Chisholm tells Lois that with her valid reporting, they can expose the aliens and protect the Earth. But when she does not buy into it, he holds her hostage and forces her to write the report.
Chisholm reveals to Lois that he has ample proof about his findings of the Kandorians, and shares with her a blood specimen. He tells her that with her being a legitimate source, people will buy into the discovery. He also reveals that the Kandorians brought him back to life, after dying from a heart attack, and implanted kryptonite fragments into his brain, disfiguring the skin on his skull while doing so.
When Zod came to rescue Vala, Dr. Chisholm shot him down and was about to kill Lois when Clark Kent showed up and knocked him across the room. Chisholm got back up and tried to attack Clark with a saw, but accidentally hit some electrical wires overhead, killing himself.
