- Benny Montoya was created by Greg Rucka, first appearing in Batman Chronicles #14. However, in the Prime Earth continuity, Benny Montoya first appeared as part of the New 52 DC Universe in GCPD: The Blue Wall #1 by John Ridley and Stefano Raffaele.
