- Bernie the Brain was created by Sheldon Mayer, first appearing in Sugar and Spike #72. However, in the Prime Earth continuity, Bernie the Brain first appeared as part of the New 52 DC Universe in Legends of Tomorrow #5 by Keith Giffen and Bilquis Evely.
