William Batson was among Earth's powerful magic-based heroes summoned to a banquet on the moon by the Phantom Stranger.

History

Consulted not into interfering Earth's new heroes' battle against The Centre. When the Spectre and Dr. Fate spoke out against their stance of noninterference, Billy helped explain to them that even though their powers could instantly defeat the Centre it is unsure if it would either help the forces of good or hinder it. After the Centre was defeated, and the American people regained their faith in the masked heroes, Billy once more took up the mantle of Captain Marvel to fight the forces of evil.
