Physicist Ray Palmer used matter from a White Dwarf Star Fragment to create a belt which allowed the wearer to shrink to microscopic size, alter his mass at will, and maintains the wearer's normal strength. He could also shrink other objects, but they tend to explode after an hour. The Bio-Belt gave its wearer the ability to take any height from his full size on down through the subatomic. It also gave him the ability to assume any mass, any weight, and any density at any height, from his full mass on down.
The Bio-Belt was later revealed to be a product of Chronos' travels through time, though its location and time of origin have not been revealed. The belt used "matter-borrowing" worm-like creatures to operate. Both belts have since been destroyed. It soon comes to light that not only is there an existing, fully functional Bio-Belt, but the device also acts as a mass transference device, capable of shunting, absorbing and exchanging excess bulk from another dimension called the Mass-Zone. The additional clot of this subspace can be used by its wearer to enlarge the users anatomic frame to gargantuan proportions or physically regenerate lost or missing biomass, provided the user has an additional source of mass to siphon it from.
Tampering with its core function also revealed the belt not only alters size, but can shift density as well, effectively making the user immaterial by expelling their mass or as heavy as a semi truck by drawing extra mass in. The Dwarf Star mineral powering the belt can also be inverted and fired as a growth ray. Making whomever or whatever's in its line of sight enlarge to monolithic proportions.
