Once the armor was taken off the Toa blast the queens with their elemental powers and Gahdok warns them while in agony that they have awoken a new threat. Suddenly, the ground collapses beneath them and the Toa each fall into tubes that are filled with energized protodermis and they transform into the Toa Nuva!

They burst out of the pipes more powerful than ever however, there was no time for celebration as the Bohrok Nest was still collapsing. Kopaka quickly tells Pohatu and Lewa to combine their powers of speed and levitation so they could shoot out of the nest and to the surface.
